Easter Seals Golf Tournament
In following with WELSCO’s vision statement, giving back to the community is a major priority. For the past 10 years, WELSCO, Inc. has hosted a golf tournament benefiting Easter Seals of Arkansas. In total, over $500,000 has been raised from these events, including over $87,500 in 2014. The 11th annual Easter Seals Golf Tournament, sponsored by WELSCO, Inc., will be on September 19, 2016 at the Pleasant Valley Country Club. SkillsUSA
SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers and industry working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce. SkillsUSA helps each student excel by providing educational programs, events and competitions that support career and technical education (CTE) in the nation’s classrooms. Since 1974, WELSCO, Inc. has proudly sponsored/supported the Arkansas SkillsUSA program by providing all of the welding equipment and machines, plasma cutters, torch outfits, gas and consumables, as well as the support staff necessary to assist during the competition. The Arkansas SkillsUSA event takes place in April every year at the Hot Springs Convention Center. If you haven't ever witnessed or participated in the event, please make it a point to come and watch America's young, talented students display their skills.
Arkansas Welding Expo
Each December, WELSCO hosts The Arkansas Welding Expo at Verizon Arena. It is one of the largest welding shows in the country, and it is open to the general public. Attendees are able to get hands on experience using equipment from over 40 different vendors, who will be showcasing and demonstrating the latest products in the welding industry. Expo hours are from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The show is open for two days, with the 1st day specifically for high school and Vo-Tech students, and the 2nd day for the general public. Attendees can purchase items with Cash, Credit Cards or their Welsco charge account.
Be Pro Be Proud
Welsco Inc. alongside the State Chamber/AIA are proud to announce the newly innovated “Be Pro Be Proud” Workforce initiative. The intent is to bring a new generation of price, progress, and professionals to Arkansas’s skilled workforce. This announcement was made Tuesday March 8th at the Statehouse Convention Center in Little Rock. The “Be Pro Be Proud” initiative targets many key audiences including high school and nontraditional students, current skilled professionals, legislators, parents, teachers, career coaches, and employees. The “Be Arkansas Pro” mobile unit, which is an engaging tool that will provide information about training resources, is traveling the state and visiting companies, schools, and events to showcase skilled trade professions and broaden awareness of their impact on the state’s workforce. Welsco also supplied one of Lincoln Electric's VRTEX Virtual Reality Arc Welding Trainers that is used in the mobile unit.
